He left there in 1904 at the age of 14 and came to Bickleton, Wash. where he stayed with his Aunt Mary Matsen for a while before going to the Willamette Valley. After several years he returned to Bickleton where he took up farming for himself in the Dot area.. His father and youngest brother visited the United States., they returned to Bickleton and farming.ic and Alta quit farming and moved into Bickleton in 1943. Alta was postmaster there for several years. In Nov. 1951 they moved to a small farm close to Sunnyside, where they lived until 1964. They then moved into town. Eric passed away in Sunnyside Dec. 16, 1968. Alta passed away in Sunnyside on April 24, 1974. Both are buried in the Cleveland Cemetery close to Bickleton.hter, Kathryn Josephine who married Max E. Slater. The Slaters farm at Bickleton.
